How to define Intolerance ???
Recent incident of lynching of Dr.Narang who succumbed to head injuries and breathed his last has created furor may not be in the nation but in my heart and mind. The past incident of Dadri killing, the case in which the man who was killed was alleged to have consumed
beef which was banned, where unfortunately and shockingly later after tests it
was revealed that the piece of food said to be beef was not beef really!!!
Irony……
The country which once was highly
known for its tolerance, I guess now is losing its identity. Then after the Dadri killing incident took
place, there were protests nationwide and many people returned their literary
awards to oppose the killings. When Indian Express organised the “RamnathGoenka Excellence Award” ceremony and Aamir Khan was invited there and when he
shared his conversation with his wife Kiran Rao where she said that India is
becoming Intolerant it became highly controversial countrywide, and then our
bloods boiled and then we gave them the examples of European Migration, Gulf
Country Wars and asked them to go to Pakistan; his ambassadorship for
Incredible India and many other brands was removed.
Do we really feel that we
are not becoming Intolerant and this is just a mere incident which took place
in Delhi and Dadri? This one incident in Delhi which started from a mere opposing
to a speeding of a vehicle and just being protective towards his own child.
Can
one tell me is it really the crime being protective towards your own child?
This one incident which was mere a clash of egos, the losing of temperament and
the feeling of revenge and retaliation not just spoiled the life of a young
child who has even not been out of the nutshell and a wife who was looking
forward making long term goals and plans for the future but also kept their
futures in “Dark” forever.
Then I may sound little bit philosophical here but
as being said “That if we can’t give life to anyone, we have no right to take
life of anyone”. Doesn’t it sound ethically correct and sound??? Now the question to the
ones who stood like a warrior against Aamir Khan, I want to ask does these
incidents don’t indicate that the seeds of becoming intolerance are being sown.
When we talk about War torn countries,
we should keep one thing in mind that no country becomes war hit in one day
suddenly; it’s a slow process which starts step by step and then eventually grows
into a larger problem. Are these incidents really not indicating that India is
becoming Intolerant??? We are stepping towards growth and development as the
day passes. Are we worthy of such development and progress when the basic moral
values of our society are degrading??? Huh!
A question worth asking yourself if not others..............
Good one! Keep writing...
ReplyDeleteThank u Satyam for the precious feedback :)
DeleteBeing A Aamir'ian.. I wud always support Aamir's statement. However, this time I thought more on it & realised that intolerance is actually rising in the country. Anyway.. just didnt agree with u on the aspect that is development necessary before moral values. I guess modernisation wud automatically divert the values. Needs bit more elaboration on that point. ✌✌
ReplyDeleteI appreciate you read it !!! Doea diversion of values due to development also mean that we forget humanity, become more aggressive and start killing each other over petty issues????
